This webinar will provide an overview of the areas normally included under a strong retention program and will also delve into each with suggestions on how to formally structure your specific program.  As with most things, a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach is best when creating and installing such a program.

Growing Your Medical Group in Tough Times

Tough times are forcing medical groups to take a hard look at their fundamental business strategy.  How can a group sustain profitability in the current economic climate?  There are two options: reduce expenses or grow profitable service lines and high-margin specialties.

Because of the length of the economic downturn, most physician practices have cut spending to the bone.  This leaves the growth strategy as the best option, but groups must overcome some inherit growth obstacles:
  1. Culture of individualism
  2. Physician protective instinct
  3. View of recruitment as an administrative function
Overcoming these obstacles requires involvement from all levels of the practice.
  1. Governance – Making recruiting a high priority
  2. Leadership – Managing the strategy
  3. Physician Leadership – Ground support
  4. Front Line Physicians – Team Effort

For medical groups that want to thrive during these tough times, creating a powerful recruitment platform is the key to maintaining profitability in the years ahead.

Horton, Smith & Associates and our President CEO Fred Horton will be offering a live webinar on April 29th, 2010 at 2:00pm CST to discuss these points in depth.  Opportunities are limited, so please reserve your slot now.  To sign up for the webinar go to www.hortonsmithassociates.com, fill out the information on the Webinar Series page of our website.  Please be sure to select “Growing Your Medical Group in Tough Times” under “Upcoming Webinars” and click on “Submit my Webinar Registration”.  A confirmation email will be sent closer to the webinar date.

Webinar: The CEO's Role in Physician Recruitment

For those of you who were unable to attend, we have posted our latest webinar (The CEO's Role in Physician Recruitment) on our website. Please check it out here

The CEO’s Role in Physician Recruiting

Despite the growing Physician Shortage, many hospitals and medical groups view recruiting as solely an administrative task. To survive in our current environment organizations need to make physician recruiting a leadership level priority or they will risk encountering:
1. Existing physician resistance
2. Inadequate resource support
3. Internal support alignment issues

High-Level commitment and accountability will create a focus on recruiting resulting in an increase in:
1. Strategic Support
2. Economic Support
3. Tactical Support
4. Effective Planning

Building a culture of Recruiting Excellence will position your organization to better weather the existing physician shortage. This can only be accomplished by making Physician Recruitment a leadership level priority.
