Despite the growing Physician Shortage, many hospitals and medical groups view recruiting as solely an administrative task. To survive in our current environment organizations need to make physician recruiting a leadership level priority or they will risk encountering:
1. Existing physician resistance

High-Level commitment and accountability will create a focus on recruiting resulting in an increase in:
1. Strategic Support
2. Economic Support
3. Tactical Support
4. Effective Planning
Building a culture of Recruiting Excellence will position your organization to better weather the existing physician shortage. This can only be accomplished by making Physician Recruitment a leadership level priority.

This year, our firm has had the distinct pleasure of expanding our executive staff, and we feel that they will play a major role in our continued success. For over 20 years I have held key executive roles, with high quality physician groups and integrated delivery systems. In my role as President/CEO of three large medical groups, I learned firsthand how efficient and successful physician recruitment positively impacts an organization. During my tenure in these roles, I also became acutely aware of how difficult it was to find a physician recruitment firm that embodied all of the characteristics I was looking for in a partner.
It’s taken me four years to create the firm I would personally engage, were I still serve in the roles outlined above. Horton Smith & Associates (HSA) is the firm I built from the ground up to do business the “right” way not the “historic” way. We have successfully created a firm of “firsts.” Here are just a few:
I believe we have created the type of firm that has never existed before and that firm is Horton, Smith & Associates. At the same time, please know that there is one historical component of doing business the right way that we will always embrace…We believe we need to earn your business every day.

Horton Smith & Associates (HSA) is the firm I built from the ground up to do business the “right” way not the “historic” way. We have successfully created a firm of “firsts.” Here are just a few:
- Dr. BN "Neal" Parsa has joined our firm as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Horton Smith & Associates.
- We are exploring opportunities to financially supplement med students currently in school. Through this initiative we hope to do our part to help alleviate the physician shortage.
- We have taken steps to create a Physician Advisory Committee to ensure that we stay on the leading edge of Healthcare needs.
- Developed NeoVocatus, a new division of our firm dedicated to assisting Physicians who are in Good Recovery from issues with addictions.
- Our firm created a Scorecard that helps our clients compare their opportunities to others around the country based on 50 different criteria, thus providing objectivity in how you structure your search and hiring package.
- The experience of our staff is unprecedented in the industry. Our Clients work with people who have walked a mile in your shoes.
- We are constantly looking for ways to give back to the Healthcare industry through volunteerism, webinars, lectures and articles.
I believe we have created the type of firm that has never existed before and that firm is Horton, Smith & Associates. At the same time, please know that there is one historical component of doing business the right way that we will always embrace…We believe we need to earn your business every day.
